Bald-skin taper or low/mid/high fade. Straight-razor cleanup at the neck and sideburns.
Shape and line your beard with shears and razor. Beard oil and hot-towel close.
Pre-shave oil, hot lather, two full passes with a straight razor, cold-towel close. Forty-five minutes of quiet.
The whole reset. Cut, shampoo, hot-towel shave, scalp tonic. Two hours, one chair.
Same cut, smaller chair. Booster and a root beer included.

The Forge opened in 2014 in a converted West Loop print shop. Marcus had spent eight years in midtown Manhattan and was done with chains. Three barbers, four chairs, and a hand-painted sign on Damen Avenue.
